The FMA represents Florida physicians at the Capitol, fighting for legislation that protects patients and safeguards physicians’ ability to practice medicine. The FMA is dedicated to the passage of laws that improve Florida's practice landscape, and we are equally committed to defeating proposals that would harm patients or undermine physicians’ authority as leaders of the medical care delivery team. Over the years, the FMA has secured many victories for physicians including historic medical liability and expert witness reform, legislation requiring insurance companies to honor patients’ assignment of benefits, and much more.
