Webinar Series: Advance Care Planning (CME)

Webinar Series: Advance Care Planning (CME)
Independent practices, health centers, and health systems will learn how to better understand the needs of critically ill patients and their families, emphasizing the role of palliative care in enhancing physician-patient alignment and reducing overall healthcare costs.
Webinar Series Graphic

Data shows that advance care planning not only benefits patients and clinicians, but also lowers the cost of care. However, among patients with the greatest need for advance care planning, fewer than 10% have completed advance care directives or have regular conversations with their physicians about their wishes.

By the end of this presentation, attendees will be able to understand:
  • The needs of patients and families experiencing serious illnesses
  • The role of palliative care, with a focus on advance care planning, as a necessary component of critical illness care
  • How advance care planning can improve patient satisfaction, relieve the physician, and reduce healthcare spending

Participants will have the opportunity to submit questions for the Q&A session at the end of the webinar.
