Nichole Pieters is a highly skilled professional, dedicated to advancing patient safety improvements and risk management practices within the healthcare industry. Nichole brings over 30 years of clinical, administrative, and leadership experience to her role and is committed to providing those she serves with innovative ideas, resources and strategies that will improve and enhance the delivery of high quality and safe patient care.
She began her healthcare career as a Registered Nurse, with most of her clinical expertise being in Emergency Nursing. For more than 15 years, Nichole has been working alongside doctors and other healthcare providers in their efforts to improve Quality, Patient Safety, and Risk Management. She served as the Director of Quality and Risk Management in a community hospital and then as the Director of Quality in a large health system in the Metro DC area. For the past several years, Nichole has been working in the medical professional liability insurance industry, providing quality and risk management services to healthcare practitioners and organizations.
Nichole earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science (MS) in Healthcare Services Leadership and Management with an Executive Practice Focus, from the University of Maryland’s School of Nursing. She is a Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), a Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS), and a Certified Professional in Health Care Risk Management (CPHRM). Nichole is also a TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer and a Certified Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt.
