Webinar Series: Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (CME)

Webinar Series: Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (CME)
Clinician interaction is often the frontline of mental health care, requiring practices to navigate rising behavioral health needs while balancing quality, access, and outcomes. This webinar will highlight key national behavioral health trends and their impact on clinical practice, including implications for value-based care. Participants will learn practical strategies to integrate behavioral health into workflows, improve treatment of common psychiatric conditions, and effectively connect patients to care options beyond the practice.

The Underdiagnosed Disorder Hiding in Your Practice - A Psychiatrist's Guide

Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) is a severe, yet frequently underrecognized, mood disorder that can significantly impair emotional well-being, interpersonal relationships, occupational functioning, and overall quality of life. Accurate diagnosis is essential to distinguishing PMDD from other mood and anxiety disorders and to implementing effective, evidence-based treatment.

This webinar will provide clinicians with a comprehensive review of PMDD, including its diagnostic criteria, underlying etiology, epidemiology, risk factors, and typical clinical course. By the end of the webinar, clinicians will be better prepared to recognize PMDD and offer evidence-based treatment strategies.

After completing this activity, learners will be able to:

      • Apply DSM-5-TR criteria to accurately diagnose PMDD
      • Describe the etiology of PMDD
      • Review the epidemiology and typical clinical course of PMDD
      • Identify key risk factors associated with PMDD
      • Discuss evidence-based treatment strategies for PMDD

Participants will have the opportunity to submit questions using the questions pane for the Q&A session at the end of the webinar.
