Webinar Series: Civil Vs. Criminal Healthcare Fraud (CME)
Physicians may not fully understand the legal and operational distinctions between civil and criminal healthcare fraud enforcement, including differences in intent, investigative processes, and potential consequences. As a result, they may have difficulty recognizing when seemingly routine billing or compliance issues could give rise to more significant legal exposure.

From Clawbacks to Prosecution: Civil vs Criminal Fraud in Healthcare

Physicians may not fully understand the legal and operational distinctions between civil and criminal healthcare fraud enforcement, including differences in intent, investigative processes, and potential consequences. As a result, they may have difficulty recognizing when seemingly routine billing or compliance issues could give rise to more significant legal exposure.

After completing this activity, learners will be able to:

      • Differentiate between civil and criminal auditing strategies to reduce legal risk.
      • Identify circumstances that may escalate compliance or billing issues.
      • Apply proactive compliance and auditing strategies to reduce legal risk.

Participants will have the opportunity to submit questions using the questions pane for the Q&A session at the end of the webinar.
