Pain Management: Prescribing Pearls for Clinicians (CME)

Pain Management: Prescribing Pearls for Clinicians (CME)

This webinar is jointly provided by the Florida Medical Association, E-FORCSE®, and FL PDMP Foundation for 1.5 CME credits. Our presenter, Aetna Medical Director Joshua Lenchus, DO, RPh, FACP, SFHM, will provide an overview of pain management, clarify the impact that pain can have on health outcomes, and emphasize the current standards for prescribing controlled substances, particularly opiates. The ultimate goal is to equip clinicians with strategies and tools to support and improve their prescribing practices.

By the end of this presentation, attendees will be able to:
  • Appreciate the impact of pain on health outcomes.
  • Recognize the risk and potential harms of opioid use.
  • Discuss and choose the appropriate selection, dosage, and duration of initial opioid prescribing.
  • Evaluate various patient scenarios and determine whether to initiate opioids for pain management.

The webinar is free for all registrants, and participants will have access to the recording through their FMA online account until Tuesday, December 10.
