Inform & Empower Health Care Professionals (CME)

This webinar is jointly provided by the Florida Medical Association, E-FORCSE®, and FL PDMP Foundation for 1.5 CME credits. Our presenter, double board-certified Adult and Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist Krithika Iyer, MD, will provide an overview of the current practice guidelines for substance use disorders (SUDs), highlight effective interventions, illuminate disparities that may exist in the treatment of SUDs, and share ideas to reduce stigma toward those seeking treatment of SUDs. By the end of this presentation, attendees will be able to:
  • Access/utilize current practice guidelines for substance use disorder (SUD), opioid use disorder (OUD), and stimulant use disorder (StUD).
  • Implement effective interventions in SUD and OUD.
  • Evaluate various patient scenarios and determine whether to initiate opioids for pain management.
  • Execute evidence-based screening and diagnostic tools, as well as patient-centered interventions.
  • Recognize methods to reduce stigma toward those seeking services and treatment for SUD.

The webinar is free for all registrants, and participants will have access to the recording through their FMA online account until Thursday, December 12.
