Prevention of Medical Errors (8:00 to 10:00 am)
This session features the mandatory content required by the Florida Boards of Medicine and Osteopathic Medicine for prevention of medical errors including root cause analysis, error reduction and prevention, patient safety, and the most commonly misdiagnosed conditions identified by the two Boards.

Controlled Substance Prescribing (10:15 am to 12:15 pm)
This session will feature the required content for the new controlled substance prescribing course that all DEA-authorized prescribers (except PAs and ARNPs) licensed in Florida must complete before January 31, 2019. Content includes new and updated prescribing laws and rules in Florida; current standards for prescribing controlled substances; alternatives to opiates including non-pharmacological options; and the risks of opioid addiction following all stages of treatment in the management of acute pain. 

Registrants will receive a confirmation email after registering and a reminder email the week of the event with links for their evaluation form and to access the live stream.
