Medical Disaster Relief Fund
Medical Disaster Relief Grant applications
The FMA’s Foundation for
Healthy Floridians is accepting applications from physician practices that were
most severely affected by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. Grants will be awarded to cover expenses that are not covered by other sources that will go toward helping physicians:
- Relocate or rehabilitate the physician's medical office
- Obtain replacement equipment
- Rebuild patient records
- Replace medical supplies
- Pay for temporary operating expenses, including rent for temporary offices and other working capital requirements
Grants will not cover lost revenue. The deadline to submit an application is January 26, 2025 subject to change depending on available funds. Grants will be awarded up to $10,000 with approved application and will be considered in the order we receive them.

Help physicians heal their communities
Hurricanes Helene and Milton unleashed destruction and catastrophic flooding across the state, leaving millions of Floridians displaced and without power. Many medical practices, particularly in areas of the west coast of Florida that were hardest hit, are severely damaged and unable to provide patient care.
Others will be closed for extended times or forced to relocate. You can help hurricane-stricken practices recover and reopen by supporting the Foundation for Healthy Floridians Medical Disaster Relief Fund.
The Medical Disaster Relief Fund was established in 2005 following Hurricane Katrina to:
- Help physician practices recover after natural disasters
- Support physicians so that they can provide urgently needed medical services in communities wrecked by natural disasters
Your contribution to the Medical Disaster Relief Fund will allow physician practices to rebuild, reopen and heal their communities. Thank you for your generous support.
The Foundation for Healthy Floridians, the FMA's philanthropic
