Bahamas Medical Disaster Relief Fund

The Bahamas are beginning the process of recovery from the immense physical destruction and loss of life wrought by Hurricane Dorian. The Foundation for Healthy Floridians is seeking to assist the Bahamas in this enormous effort and is accepting contributions to assist in recovery efforts. 100 percent of the funds collected will go towards disaster relief efforts in the Bahamas.

The Florida Department of Health advises physicians who would like to volunteer medical services for victims of Hurricane Dorian to contact their regional DOH Volunteer Health Services (VHS) office. Help physicians heal their communities

After Hurricanes Irma, Maria and Michael devastated the state of Florida and Puerto Rico, many medical practices were severely damaged and were unable to provide patient care. Others were closed for extended times or forced to relocate. You can help hurricane-stricken practices recover and reopen by supporting the Foundation for Healthy Floridians Medical Disaster Relief Fund.

The Medical Disaster Relief Fund was established in 2005 following Hurricane Katrina to:

  • Help physician practices recover after natural disasters
  • Support physicians so that they can provide urgently needed medical services in communities wrecked by natural disasters

Your contribution to the Medical Disaster Relief Fund will allow physician practices to rebuild, reopen and heal their communities. Thank you for your generous support.
