Webinar Series: Meeting the New DEA Training Requirement

Webinar Series: Meeting the New DEA Training Requirement
On Dec. 29, 2022, the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023 enacted a new, one-time requirement for all Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)-registered practitioners to complete eight hours of training on the treatment and management of patients with opioid or other substance use disorders. Beginning on June 27, 2023, physicians will be required to check a box on their online DEA registration form — regardless of whether they are completing their initial registration application or renewing their registration — affirming that they have completed the new training requirement. In this webinar, we’ll answer these and other questions about the new DEA requirement: Does this requirement apply to me? When will I have to demonstrate completion of the training? Does the training have to be completed via one session? What organizations can offer the training? Will the FMA offer a course to fulfill the new training requirement?
