This webcast will highlight new and updated prescribing laws and rules in Florida; emphasize the current standards for prescribing controlled substances, particularly opiates; discuss alternatives to opiates including non pharmacological options; and address the risks of opioid addiction following all stages of treatment in the management of acute pain. The content of this 3-hour course encompasses the required course for all DEA-authorized physician (MD/DO) prescribers in Florida. Physicians who complete the course will receive two credits for the required controlled substance prescribing requirement and one general credit. In addition, this 3-hour course satisfies the required controlled substance prescribing training for PAs and APRNs in Florida.
