In the United States, the prevalence of Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) is estimated to be between 19 and 21 million, with a significant increase in the number of people affected between 1995 and 2020. Many people with PAD are asymptomatic, with up to 50% experiencing no symptoms. This webinar focusing on the latest clinical guidelines will highlight essential aspects of PAD management, including diagnosis, risk reduction, and treatment strategies, as well as incorporate patient-centered care approaches.

This webinar focusing on the latest clinical guidelines will highlight essential aspects of PAD management, including diagnosis, risk reduction, and treatment strategies, as well as incorporate patient-centered care approaches. 


After completing this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Recognize the scope and prevalence of PAD
  • Implement methods to diagnose PAD
  • Integrate recommended strategies to integrate PAD management into their routine care
  • Collaborate with patients more effectively to address modifiable risk factors
  • Refer appropriately for interventional or surgical procedures

Participants will have the opportunity to submit questions using the questions pane for the Q&A session at the end of the webinar.


About The Presenter

Merrill Krolick, DO
Program Director
Interventional Cardiology Fellowship, HCA FL Largo Hospital

Merrill Krolick, DO, FACC was born in New York City. He received his bachelor's degree in biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y. He then attended the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, N.Y. receiving his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree in 1985. Dr. Krolick completed a rotating internship at Sun Coast Osteopathic Hospital in Largo. He completed his internal medicine and cardiology training at the University of South Florida, including training in interventional cardiology and cardiac transplantation.

Dr. Krolick has been in clinical practice since 1992. He is an attending cardiologist at HCA Largo Medical Center, Morton Plant Hospital and HCA Indian Rocks Hospital. And he currently serves as co-director of the cardiology fellowship program at HCA Florida Largo Hospital and is director of the interventional cardiology fellowship. He directs the cardiac cath lab at HCA Florida Largo Hospital.

Dr. Krolick is triple board certified in Internal medicine, cardiology and interventional cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians and Society of Cardiac Angiography and Interventionalists.

  2. Under the Profile Menu header, locate the blue section containing profile options. Click the orange Event Access/Claim CME tab. (example shown above)
  3. Click the Access Webinar link listed next to the webinar title.
  4. Slides and/or supporting documents will be provided in the handouts section of the webinar, if available.

Post-Event:

  1. Go to www.flmedical.org. At the top of the page, click on Profile. Sign in with your username (email) and password.
  2. Under the Profile Menu header, locate the blue section containing profile options. Click the orange Event Access/Claim CME tab. (example shown above)
  3. Access to the recording will be available within 24 hours of the event conclusion until Sunday, June 29 and then in the members-only webinar library.

Claiming CME Credit:

  1. Log in to your FMA account profile and click the CME Event Access/Claim Credit tab in the blue menu (example shown above)
  2. Click the event's Claim CME Credit hyperlink
  3. All CME credits will be reported on your behalf to CE Broker by Friday, July 4 after the June 29 deadline.
  4. NEW FEATURE - CME Certificates will be available to print in your FMA Profile after credits have been reported. Certificates will no longer be mailed.
