Recognizing the future of organized medicine in Florida

The Florida Medical Association Medical Student Section (FMA MSS) is accepting applications for the Leadership Honor Society. The Leadership Honor Society recognizes current or rising fourth-year medical students are active participants in Florida-organized medicine. Members of the Leadership Honor Society receive special recognition at the FMA Annual Meeting and are presented with honor cords to wear at their medical school graduation.

The following are the requirements for membership in the FMA-MSS Leadership Honor Society:

  • The student must be a medical student in a Florida medical school and a member of the FMA.

  • Students must hold leadership roles for at least one year of their medical school career.

  • Leadership roles include official chapter, county, and state positions (FMA Board, Council or Committee positions, MSS Governing Council, chapter positions listed within the chapter bylaws, county society positions, or other significant leadership positions based on the MSS Governing Council’s discretion).

  • Students must attend at least one FMA Annual Meeting while enrolled in medical school. Students can participate in the David A. Paulus, M.D. Poster Symposium and serve as a delegate or on a council or committee.

  • Students must demonstrate good mentorship towards fellow medical students.

We look forward to the opportunity to give special thanks and recognition to all Florida medical students who have participated in organized medicine!
